Although some countries, such as Russia and the Republic of Turkey, recently introduced permanent Daylight saving time and will not be changing, it is not going to happen in BiH soon.
Transition to winter time will take place on the last Sunday of October so we will be moving our clocks for 60 minutes, so that 3:00 am will be calculated as 02.00 am.
“It can be said that there is absolutely no possibility for BiH to change the way of calculating time, including “shift of clock”, because we belong to the part of Europe without indication for something like that,” said economic analyst Igor Gavran.
When it comes to economic effects, he explained that they were the original motive of introducing these measures, or that the energy savings were main motivation because of the duration of the day.
However, despite the effects of one or the other option that are extremely important for BiH, Gavran concluded that the country with such geographical, political and economic position cannot afford “eccentric positioning in the region and has only one option and that is to follow the EU and the rest of Europe.”
From the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of FBiH was emphasized that the question of calculating time in the FBiH is regulated by the Law on saving time.
They also explained that the mentioned law has temporal character, since it is prescribed to be applied until the adoption of the Law on the saving time of BiH.
Regarding this, in the FBiH are not planned changes of above mentioned regulations, which would question the computation time for this entity,” said from the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy of FBiH.
