Alija Delic asked for one cow, but good people bought him two. He will keep one cow for himself and will donate other one to his mother and brothers, who are also living difficult.
Alija is a returnee to village Suceska near Srebrenica, after several thousands of Bosniaks were killed in this village in the Eastern Bosnia in 1995. He returned with his family a few years ago, where he lives with his wife and two children. He is feeding his family by collecting waste and selling it for small change which is usually not enough for even a qualitative food.
Few days ago, with the help of media, Alija asked someone to help him buy a cow because he is sure that his children wouldn’t be hungry after that. Five days ago he was the happiest man on the Earth. A cow was in his garden, and the other one was on the way to his village.
Alija hasn’t spoken almost all the time, besides that he will donate the other cow. But his slight gentle smile revealed that his happiness knew no bounds on Friday.
Coordinators from a Humanitarian association “Svjetlo“, thanks to whom a money was collected, said that one economist from Austria, with the Bosnian origin, bought one cow for Alija, but he didn’t want to reveal his name. A farmer from Tomislavgrad, who also wanted to stay anonymous donated the other one.
From the rest of the money collected for Alija, association “Svjetlo“ will buy him the mower and some additional supplies.
Bosniaks, Serbs and Croatians were equally included in the humanitarian action for Alija Delic and his family.
