Play ‘Merry Widow’ in National Theatre Sarajevo

veselaOperetta ”The Merry Widow” by Franz Lehar will play in the Sarajevo National Theatre on 25 June at 7.30 p.m.

The librettists, Viktor Léon and Leo Stein, based the story – concerning a rich widow, and her countrymen’s attempt to keep her money in the principality by finding her the right husband – on an 1861 comedy play, L’attaché d’ambassade (The Embassy Attaché) by Henri Meilhac.

The operetta is directed by Krunoslav Cigoj from Croatia, while the conductor is Dario Vučić.

Cast:  Jasmin Bašić, Meliha Hajrulahović, Katarina Kikić, Davor Radić, Dragutin Matić, Aida Čorbadžić, Adema Pljevljak-Krehić, Amir Saračević, Ileš Bečei, Denis Isaković, Leonardo Šarić, Ivan Šarić, Dragan Pavlović, Edin Daši, Dejan Kajević and Emsad Bečić.
