According to forecasts, Bosnia and Herzegovina will be hit by another heat wave this week. Today is expected to peak heat wave and the hottest day this year.
According to the weather forecast, the temperature will reach 35 degrees Celsius in Bosnia and in Herzegovina over 40 degrees Celsius. Particularly high temperatures are expected in Mostar and the surrounding area.
The Federal Meteorological Service has issued a warning about high daily air temperatures and very high UV index values.
The meteorological service Severe Weather Europe also announces an upcoming heat wave that will hit southern central Europe and the Balkans. They write that it is a short-lived heat wave during which temperatures will rise to 40 degrees Celsius.
Monday will bring the highest temperatures, but also that from Tuesday, the cold front will bring cool air mass from the Alpine regions to the north of the Balkans.
The recommendations are to avoid being outdoors in the hottest parts of the day and to get enough water. It is advisable to wear light and airy clothing and to further protect the body when staying in the sun from 10:00 to 17:00 o’clock.
In recent days, healthcare facilities have been receiving more and more patients suffering from dehydration. Various allergic reactions as well as intestinal infections are increased.
