Works on the reconstruction of the former House of Pioneers “Boško Buha” in Sarajevo are in final stage. Mayor of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo Nedžad Koldžo today signed a Contract on execution of the third stage of works. According to some estimations, the third stage of works should be completed by the middle of next year, perhaps even earlier.
Reconstruction began two years ago, and now the third, final stage of interior decoration and exterior works worth 1.030.000 BAM is being executed.
“We want to bring young children here and provide them with activities that are currently being implemented in the International Youth Center. This is the first facility of its kind in BiH and something that Sarajevo can boast of. It consists of various multifunctional spaces that can easily be adjusted to the organization of different activities. Multifunctional hall will be built as a theatre, but it can also be turned into a cinema or a space for other kinds of events. There is also a ballet learning space, space for creative workshops for learning how to play musical instruments, library and space for educational contents such as additional classes and the like,” Koldžo said.
Former contents of the House of Pioneers “Boško Buha” will be brought back, just in a more modern form with modern devices. Spaces will be adjusted for children up to 14 years of age, but in case of need adults will be able to use them, too.
“We have more than 70 percent of the necessary funds now, and in the next budget year we will allocate more funds if necessary. We are working at the project of equipping the center at the same time, which actually demands the most funds. Total value of the project is almost two million BAM,” Koldžo said.
