Day of Eco-Parks was marked yesterday in Tjentišta, where a modern tourist info-centar was opened in the national park Sutjeska. It was financed by the EU for 413.000 euros.
“The EU monitors events in Foča and lends full support to development projects for the local community, such as this one in Tjentišta, and we will continue to implement development projects for people’’, said Renzo Daviddi, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to BIH.
The tourist info-center began more than two years ago.
“This is currently the most modern project done as part of a national park, which was coordinated by Serda. We have set up 200 signs inside the national park, built 70 km of hiking trails and 80 km of bicycle lanes. We have 25 bicycles that tourists can use and complete equipment for the mountain rescue service and invested 30.000 euros. We built three mountain houses, five weekend houses, and we educated people and assisted in the reconstruction and construction of six houses for seasonal tourism. With all this, 15 young men have completed training and received an international license to be mountain guides’’, said Siniša Obradović for “Novosti”, the project manager for the info-center.
