The U-19 women’s national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina gathered today at the FF BH Training Centre in Zenica, where they will do five days of preparations.
This is the first gathering of the women’s junior team after 4 months and the head coach Dragan Jevtić does not hide his satisfaction that the work has started again:
“After a long time, we are together again and we are all glad to be together again. We hope that this ugly period is behind us and that something similar will not happen in the future. For this generation of female players, the break of the season was difficult, because we would make a step forward and qualify for the elite round of qualifications for the EURO. We’re sorry we weren’t allowed to play that. In any case, we have set some norms and now we have to continue in that direction. We dreamed of qualifying for the European Championship, unfortunately we were deprived of the opportunity to fight for it. Through the next qualifications, we will try to continue that dream and maintain the continuity of good games and results.”
Jevtić also added:
“We are facing a difficult period due to the break we had in our work. We kept in touch with the players and sent them a plan and program to work independently. We will see in these five days and after the anthropological tests what shape they are in, and that will show us how much someone worked in the period behind us.”
National team player Fadila Mujkić also regrets that the elite round of qualifications for the European Championship was cancelled:
“We are all very sorry that we could not perform in the elite round, even though we fought for it. It was a great generation of players and we will miss the girls who will not have the right to perform in the U-19 team this year. I hope that this team will continue where we stopped last year and that we will be successful again and be in good shape when the qualifications come.”
Midfielder Selma Hasić is looking forward to a new gathering:
“We missed gatherings and football in general, so we are all glad to be together again. We all worked on ourselves during the break and we are ready to do these preparations in the best way. We are a quality team and it is good that we have already started working. I believe that we will be maximally ready until the qualifications and I hope for good results.”
Preparations end on Friday, 10th July.
