The Prime Minister of the FBIH Nermin Nikšić received yesterday at the headquarters of the FBIH government in Sarajevo the Ambassador of the US to BiH Patrick Moon in a farewell visit. Moon’s mandate in BIH is ending after three years.
The US diplomat expressed interest for the current situation in the FBiH, especially in the area of economy, and for other issues whose solution could contribute to improving the everyday lives of its citizens.
In a detailed assessment of the situation, the Prime Minister spoke in particular on the set of anticorruption laws that are in its advanced stage of adoption. It would create the legal framework for the fight against corruption and organized crime.
The US Ambassador gave his support to this legislative process.
“Your country is an initiator and leader in its efforts to raise the issue of reform of the FBiH Constitution. Due to the existence of the FBiH, as well as BIH, we have to change the constitutional framework and the entity. We recognize and support its importance and we will persevere, because their end goal is a more efficient and functional FBIH, as well as BiH”, said the FBIH Prime Minister.
Ambassador Moon gave his full support to Prime Minister Nikšić in his efforts to keep up the work of the government, and due to the current economic and political situation he facing many problems. As a sign of gratitude for what he did for our country during his mandate, Nikšić handed to US Ambassador Moon a relief of the Charter of Kulin Ban, which testifies to the centuries-old history of the state of BiH, announced the FBIH government.
