The BiH Council of Ministers adopted unanimously today an amendment to the Law on the unique master citizen number (JMBG), proposed by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, according to Srna.
According to the proposed law, the FBiH will have five registration areas, the RS will have three, and Brčko will have one area.
The Law on the JMBG was already sent twice to parliamentary procedure, but it did not pass.
Due to the lack of adoption of a Law on the JMBG, there were several organized protests that took place over the course of last month. The BiH Council of Ministers in the meantime adopted a temporary Law on the JMBG so that newborns could have a JMGB until a new Law is adopted.
