The former military representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to NATO and the head of the Department of International Relations and European Studies at the International Burch University, Alija Kozljak commented on the inciting rhetoric of Milorad Dodik, the European Union (EU) and United States (U.S.) sanctions announced for our country, why High Representative (HR), Christian Schmidt does not want to use the Bonn powers, what is the solution to the current situation in our country…
Celebration in the tents
When asked by the editor and presenter Helena Javor-Ibrahimbegovic how he comments on the fact that Milorad Dodik brought an accordionist to his office before the Presidency session on Monday, Kozljak emphasized that it was an expression of primitivism.
”I think that Mr. Dodik has not respected the BiH institutions for a long time. It was better if he stayed in his tent atmosphere in which he was used to doing that, and send messages of peace, sing, rejoice, which is his legitimate right as a citizen. But, this is an institution of BiH and I agree with those who said that in this way he speaks the most about himself and that he causes the most damage to those he represents, ” stated Kozljak.
Sanctions were announced
When asked if there will be a war, Kozljak mentioned that he is convinced that it will not happen.
”I am convinced that Mr. Dodik does not want a war either. In my opinion, Dodik is cheerful, in the mood for socializing and not for war. As we know, he did not take part in the war in the ’90s, so the war is not in his interest for sure, ” Kozljak pointed out.
Kozljak also referred to the announced sanctions by the U.S. and the EU.
”I believe this is the beginning of Dodik’s political end. This will be announced very soon through the general action of the international community, which, among other things, includes sanctions. I am sure that one of the first on that list is Milorad Dodik, who will be limited after that to act in such a destructive way, ” concluded Kozljak.
