Yesterday at 8.30 from the Square of Sarajevo Children, Jasmin Grebic started his 2.300 km long cycling tour to Barcelona.
Grebic, a member of the cycling club Trek, explained before the journey that he will drive with suitcases and during the journey, he will try to make as much spins as possible, in order to not bother muscles too much, He added that for such big feat it is necessary to have enough amounts of water and energy sources such as sweets.
“When it comes to the rests, they will depend on weather conditions, and I should have shorter breaks very two hours. I will drive around six to seven hours every day with one bigger rest after the lunch. I will cross near 100 kilometers every day every day, but I will make a break on every sixth day when I won’t drive at all“ added Grebic.
His first stage is Sarajevo – Jajce via Komar, stage of the second day is Jajce – Bihac, Bihac -Crikvenica on the third day and after that, Crikvenica – Trst follows.
He will be followed by his club colleague Mirza Muftic to Crikvenica, after which he is going alone, and he should arrive to Barcelona on 23rd July, but he will try to come earlier if possible.
His adventure feat will be financially supported by the City of Sarajevo and Grebic managed to collect a support of other sponsors who recognized the importance of his 23-day journey.
Jasmin will pass through six countries – Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, France. Monaco and Spain at the end, but the aim of his journey is a symbolic connection of two brotherly cities, Sarajevo and Barcelona, through the cycling.
