Jury elected swimmer Ivana Ninković and basketball player Mirza Teletović for the sportswoman and sportsman of the year 2012.
The event was organised by ”Nezavisne Novine” and RTV BiH.
Ivana Niković i Mirza Teletović were also named queen and king of the sports, and their crowning was held in Sarajevo hotel ”Holiday Inn” in the presence of many prominent figure from BiH.
For the best coach, the jury elected the coach of basketball team of BiH, Aleksandar Petrović.
In the category of best team, the basketball team of BiH, who participated in ”Eurobasket 2013” won.
Awards were also given to the most promising sportsmen and sportwomen.
Most promising sportsman is Mesud Pezer from Zenica, a shot putter and the most promising sportswoman is Aleksandra Samardžić, a judoka from Berkovići.
BiH sitting volleyball team, who won gold at the Paralympics in London, was elected the best team in the category for the disabled, and Sanela Redžić was elected the best sportswoman in the same category for she won the 4th place in shot put.
The fair-play award went to skater Edin Branković, who gave his two-year scholarship of 800 USD to his fellow sportsmen who will participate in the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014.
Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Mirko Petricevic, because of his dedication to gymnastics and working with the young people.
Posthumous award for lifetime achievement was awarded to Ivan Mioč ,a respected football worker from Sarajevo.
