Representatives from the Italian company ‘Siderimpes’ Nikola Fedrigo and Alesandro Todorović were in the factory for spare parts and met with the Prime Minister of Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) Munib Husejnić to discuss the activities in development projects in Vareš.
The desire of Italian investors in the further development of the Company For Spare Parts (TRD), which currently employs 160 people, was particularly emphasized, according to the website of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
The guests presented planning steps of new investment moves worth 8 to 10 million euros and expressed hope that this would allow the commitment of employees to stay in these areas. The achieved level of productivity that is between 60 and 70 percent produces visible effects, but not at the expected level of profitability.
The ambitions for the company for spare parts are aimed at maintaining the current level of employment, but they are seriously considering opening one more factory that would require new staff, on whose training and education should be agreed on with the local community and canton institutions. The staff for this type of metal industry is not currently being taught in high schools in the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
Representatives of investors and TRD used the time for the exchange of information on how to ‘cover’ the debt incurred on the basis of tax liabilities, and with interest it has grown to a serious figure. It was said that they would do their best to comply with agreements signed on privatization.
