Sarajevo hosted the International hair show to present the latest trends in the Balkans and Turkey, reports Anadolu Agency (AA).
In front of the audience of fashion lovers, hairdressers took the stage and showed the skills of fast cutting, styling and making wearable, traditional and extravagant hairstyles. Host of the event and a representative of BiH, Mahir Sinanović, said that when it comes to the hairstyles, the Balkans is still conservative.
“I would like us to express, not to be closed. We are closed enough in other things, I’d like to open at least to fashion itself and thus facilitate our soul,” said Sinanović.
However, according to Sinanović, regardless of financial reality, the Balkans are still trying to keep up with global trends in hairstyles. Important difference in the last few years, says Sinanović, is the fact that men, not just women, give much more attention to their appearance.
“They’ve taken the liberty regarding the hair. They are visiting hairdressing salons, dyeing their hair, fenir, and they have much more ‘came in expansion’ than women.”
Special guests of the event and one of the most famous hairdressers in Turkey, Adnan Serter and Salih Pehlivan, presented oriental buns. The fact that tradition has influence on current Turkish fashion, stylists showed by presenting models in the dervish outfits. The difference between the mentality of the Orient and the Balkans is reflected in the way of making hairstyles as well.
