In the past year, the import of cars in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has increased for the seventh consecutive year, but there is also a big difference in imports of used vehicles compared to new ones.
Thus, last year, 70.976 vehicles were imported, with a total value of 836.265.316 BAM, of which 60.079 were used, and 10.897 new ones, which represents an increase of more than 100 percent compared to 2010, when a total of 32.695 vehicles were imported.
On the one hand, import of the used cars is increasing, which raises the question of the safety on our roads, while on the other hand, import of expensive vehicles is growing.
Among the ten most expensive vehicles imported to BiH in the past year are: a ferrari, a tesla, five mercedes and three porsche, with a total value of 2.677.821 BAM. The most expensive of them, more specifically the ferrari, costs 386.200 BAM, and the cheapest – porsche costs 231.951 BAM, it was said to Fena from the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH.
The increase in import during the same period was noticed with the precious metals (gold, platinum, jewelery items…), since we imported precious metals worth 8.283.617 BAM in the last year. At the same time, in the past year we imported clothes, clothing accessories and other fur products worth 235.224 BAM.
