By signing the Memorandum of Understanding, INA and BH-Gas agreed on mutual goals and agreed the cooperation on the further improvement of market of the natural gas in BiH, as well as on the creation of prerequisites for the delivery of natural gas from the transport system of Croatia to the transport system of BiH.
The agreed future partnership relation in the business operation with natural gas on the market of BiH between INA and BH-GAS means that BH-Gas will take over INA’s supply of natural gas after prerequisites are met, i.e. after the transport systems of the two countries are connected.
Therefore, BH-Gas is planning the construction of interconnections with the gas system of the Republic of Croatia in three places. The gas systems of the two countries in the north of BiH would be connected by the gas pipeline Slobodnica-Brod-Zenica, in the south by the gas pipeline Zagvozd-Posusje-Novi Travnik with a connection to Mostar, and on the west by the gas pipeline Trzac-Bosanska Krupa with a connection to Bihac.
At the same time, the possibility of gas supply over the already existing transport systems of neighbouring countries will be explored independently from the future connection of gas systems in the two countries, as announced by BH-Gas.
“The Memorandum represents a continuation of the cooperation of BH-Gas and INA that was started a long time ago, but at the same time, it represents a good basis for the future cooperation in the field of supply of natural gas, i.e. the supply of natural gas to BiH. This Memorandum foresees the creation of long-term partnership relations,” said the Director of BH-Gas Jasmin Salkic.
