In the Sarajevo gallery ‘Preporod’, the Ramadan exhibit of calligraphic works entitled ‘Visuality of Words’ opened last night.
The works are the result of the school of calligraphy that was organized in this gallery under the auspices of Ćazim Hadžimejlić and is the continuation of the first exhibition from December of last year.
The exhibition features 45 works of four students: Vanesa Kazagić, Dalila Dedić-Stanković, Vekas Bugarić and Teufik Mešić who all received certificates from the school yesterday.
Ćazim Hadžimejlić said that the exhibition has a message, intended primarily for citizens of BiH and beyond-that calligraphy has existed here for more than 550 years and that it exists today.
Hadžimejlić said that calligraphy is not only of religious character, and that it does not only contain religious messages of portions of sacred text, but also beautiful phrases and names.
The Director of gallery ‘Preporod’ Mirsad Baljić welcomed visitors to the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open until 20 July.
