Christian Schmidt, the High Representative (HR) in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), also addressed yesterday’s panel of regional and European leaders on the topic “The Future of Europe – Enlargement”, which was held as part of the Bled Forum in Slovenia.
On this occasion, Schmidt referred to the absence of the member of the Presidency of BiH from the ranks of the Serbian people, Milorad Dodik, calling his move a “weakness”.
“One member of the Presidency is missing here today. The opinion that blockades are politics is wrong. Blockades are not politics. Blockades are a weakness,” Schmidt said yesterday.
To recall, even though the invitation was accepted earlier, the member of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik announced on Tuesday that he will not go to Slovenia and that the decision on the official trip of the Presidency of BiH does not exist.
He stated as a reason that Christian Schmidt will be in Slovenia, and he does not recognize him as HR.
“If someone leaves, he left in a private arrangement and cannot represent BiH. NATO will be discussed at that event. BiH is not on the path to NATO membership, and that is very clear,” Dodik told.
BiH Presidency Chairman Zeljko Komsic and BiH Presidency Member Sefik Dzaferovic spoke at yesterday’s panel.
Komsic emphasized that no one in BiH will be less Bosniak, Croat, or Serb if he renounces constitutivity because that is how citizens across Europe live.
Dzaferovic added that most BiH citizens want BiH to become a member of the European Union (EU) and that its entry would relax relations in the Western Balkans, Klix.ba writes.
