The hospital in Travnik will receive the most modern maternity unit in the region soon, thanks to a donation from the friendly city of Izmit (Turkey) in the amount of 300,000 EUR.
The contract on donation was signed three weeks ago, and it will be used for replacement of old equipment, which will significantly improve the work of doctors and the stay of patients in the hospital.
During the process of signing the contract, the head of the maternity unit Fatima Curic-Ljevakovic stated that the renovation of the maternity unit is her dream.
“This is not just a short-term donation, but something that will be used over the next 50-100 years. We will have a maternity unit in accordance with all European standards, and it will be the best one in the region,” said Fatima Curic-Ljevakovic.
“We will completely renovate the maternity unit with a donation of 300,000 EUR, and thus we will get the maternity unit from a 22nd century. With this donation, our future mothers will be safer, doctors and other staff will be more motivated and young doctors will not be looking for an opportunity to go abroad,” said Mirsad Granov Lawn, the director of the hospital.
The renovated maternity unit at the Travnik Hospital should be operational in about a month.
