Haris Medunjanin, a football player in Philadelphia, has delighted the American public at the yesterday’s match between Philadelphia and DC United.
At 74th minute, in Philadelphia’s lead with a 1:0, Luciano Acosta pushed Medunjanin who fell, and judge Sorin Stoica showed a direct red card to Argentinian.
After Acosta in disbelief watched what was happening, Stoica approached Medunjanin and asked him if the Argentinian had deliberately hit him, Medunjanin said he did not get a punch, but that Acosta has just pushed him. Stoica changed his decision and redone the red card to the DC United midfielder.
“I always want to win, but I do not want to win the win in an unfair way. It is important that we win in a fair way,” said Medunjanin, whose team celebrated 1: 0.
“I suppose Haris wants to win a fair play prize,” Alejandro Bedoy, the captain of Philadelphia made a joke.
