Former President of Croatia: Covic’s Arrival in Banja Luka was a Shame for all those who voted for him

“Whatever Dragan Covic does, it is no longer surprising, because he has been  for a long time in an agreement with Milorad Dodik on how to break Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Stipe Mesic, former President of the Republic of Croatia, commented today’s attendance of BiH HDZ leaders on the marking the unconstitutional day of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka.

Mesic stresses that the celebration on January 9th, RS day, is an anti-constitutional act, because the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina declared it unconstitutional earlier.

“Namely, RS is established only after the Dayton Agreement, and this date has nothing to do with RS, and everyone who is involved in the celebration of that day also says his opinion on BiH,” Mesic told Vijesti.ba news portal.

He states that Dodik does not hide that he is an opponent of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but he rather publicly manifests it, while Covic is a little restrained when he is among those who want the survival of BiH.

“However, when he is with people with whom he shares opinion, and it is Dodik’s party, then he is quite honest. His honest politics is breaking up of BiH,” Mesic added.

Mesic believes that Covic’s visit to Banja Luka is a shame for all those who were engaged in his election for a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“It is a shame for all those who have advocated for him to be a member of the BiH Presidency from the Croat people’s,” Mesic concluded in a conversation with Vijesti.ba.
