The most famous flutist in the world was welcomed at the Airport Sarajevo by the director of Music Arts Foundation Ninoslav Verber and Director of Sarajevo Philharmonic Samir Lokvancic.
Flutist Emmanuel Pahud will perform before the Sarajevo audience on Friday, May 12, at 8 PM, with which the 23rd SVEM will be officially open.
He will surely delight the audience with his stage presence, elegance and incredible ease and virtuosity of performance together with the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra and Uros Lajovic.
At his premiere performance in Sarajevo, accompanied by the orchestra, Emmanuel Pahud will perform the famous Violin Concerto in D Major by Aram Khachaturian, one of the most demanding works of flute literature. Besides Khachaturian’s work, the audience at the concert will enjoy in the performance of symphonic poem The Enchanted Lake and Kikimora by Anatoly Lyadov, as well as Symphony No. 1 also known as “Classical” symphony by Sergei Prokofiev.
After the concert of Emmanuel Pahud, the program of the 23rd SVEM will be continued with a series of concerts and musical workshops. It will take place until May 19, 2017, and for the finals of the festival, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the concert of Russian cellist Alexander Rudin at the National Theater in Sarajevo, who will be performing accompanied by the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Samra Gulamovic.
