Exhumation of mass graves at the territory of Jelovica cesma in Vlasenica was completed. These are two mass graves that are about 15 meters apart, and 28 remains are exhumed from two graves.
Lejla Cengic, a spokeswoman for the Missing Persons Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), told to agency Fena that eight incomplete mortal remains were exhumed from one mass grave and from the second one 20 remains, including 12 complete bodies and eight incomplete ones.
According to results of an external examination, it was found that among the victims there was one woman.
Cengic says that besides the remains, plenty of clothes, shoes, gold jewelry and other personal items and documents were found.
After exhumation, the remains were transported to the Commemorative Center in Tuzla for the purpose of court-medical and criminal-tehnical processing and using bone samples for DNA analysis to determine the exact identity of exhumed victims.
The exhumation was managed by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, under the orders of the Court of BiH.
Cengic says that today and tomorrow at this territory will be investigated two more locations near the mass graves that were already found.
