At this year’s Balkan Florence Express Film Festival, dedicated to the Balkan cinematography, which was held in Florence, Elmir Jukic’s movie “Frog” was part of the competition program.
A special mention and the Grand Prix award for the best role at the festival was given to the actor Emir Hadzihafizbegovic for the role of Zeko.
The movie “Frog” was shot according to the drama piece with the same name, that has been playing for the past ten years at the full scene of Kamerni Theater 55.
The “Frog” is a story about all of us, people of today, in the age of misunderstanding and loneliness, and pursuit of love and meaning. The movie diagnoses, almost in surgical way, the time in which we live through characters that do not manage to adapt in the transition period and the age of changed values.
The movie deals with the problems of today, that are the same or similar in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia or Serbia. The primary problem is the lack of communication and the inability to hear others’ opinion because of the constant and difficult struggle with the inner demons.
The great acting crew (Mirsad Tuka, Aleksandar Seksan, Moamer Kasumovic) headed by the most renowned and awarded actor of the Balkans, Emir Hadzihafizbegovic, achieved unforgettable roles in both, the theater and movie, and told the story of humanity that overcomes all boundaries and frames, and resonates with all of us, no matter where we are, or how we are called.
