The first month of collection of funds since the increase of excise duties is behind us. According to data provided by the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, and taking into consideration the promise of the parties that adopted the new law, there is 16 million BAM more on the account for highways and roads in comparison to last year.
Namely a total of 25,873,072 BAM was collected in the month of February 2018, on the basis of the toll for the construction of highways and the construction and reconstruction of other roads from the price of imported and domestic oil and oil products, which is increased by 16,648,277 BAM when compared to February 2017.
This is a part of the excises that refers to 0.25 BAM per liter of derivative that is sold on the market of BiH.
“In the total amount of funds collected on the basis of toll of 0.25 BAM per liter of derivatives, besides the standard collected tolls, there are also funds collected from the list of supplies made on the day of the beginning of application of the Amendments to the Law on Excises (February 1, 2018). This toll was collected on a special account of the Single Account that is opened in the Central Bank of BiH,” as noted from the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH.
To recall, besides this toll, another toll in the amount of 0.15 BAM for the road construction and a total of 15.144.566 BAM was collected on this basis in February 2018. These funds will be allocated to users together with all other income collected from indirect taxes (VAT, excise, customs). The total amount of 13,790,726 BAM was collected on this basis in the month of February 2017.
A total of 32.3 million BAM was collected based on the excise taxes on oil and petroleum products in February 2018, while the amount of 31.1 million BAM was collected in February 2017.
