The most significant tourist potential of the Bosnian Podrinja Canton are the rivers Drina and Prača and Mount Jahorina is not making any the expected results due to the economic crisis and recession.
The Drina river attracts a large number of local and foreign tourists, and the development of tourism of this area is mostly based on the opportunities of the Drina.
The upper reaches of the Drina has been preserved from pollution, is rich with fish, surrounded by natural areas of forests, orchards, small villages, hills and mountains, and it is the most important tourist motive of the canton and attracts a large number of tourists, especially during the summer season.
The most important activities on the Drina for tourists are rafting, kayaking, swimming in areas such as the city beach Žanj in Goražde, the beach in Zupčići and the beach on the Sadba and fishing.
The tourist agency of Goražde is trying to use natural, cultural and historical resources available in the Canton in order to establish better and more positive results in tourism.
The tourist agency said that the cultural heritage is attracting more foreign tourists.
In the first six months of this year in the Canton there were about 3.274 overnight stays, and in the same period last year there were 5.165.
