The President of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, yesterday commented on the statements of the state leadership of Serbia and President Aleksandar Vucic regarding the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica, which was voted by the Parliament of Montenegro.
Djukanovic told that this was nothing new and reminded of previous media campaigns from Serbia, where, as he said, it was manipulated with information and there were stories that someone wants to take the Orthodox churches, as RTCG reports.
“Even now, attempts are being made to manipulate how this resolution condemns Serbia and the Serbian people, although there is a precise part in the resolution that the condemnation of genocide cannot refer to the people, but that the genocides were committed by individuals, and that it is up to politics to make a clear distinction from those individuals who have committed such inhumane acts, ” the President stated.
He added that the state leadership of Serbia, with its comments, is doing enormous damage to that state and its people.
“If the responsibility of one nation is not mentioned, and someone from the state top is forcibly trying to connect genocide with his state and his people, then it is self-destructive and there is no medicine for it. You cannot help them, they are systematically trying to attribute the indictment to Serbia and the Serbian people, which does not occur to us in Montenegro, ” Djukanovic pointed out.
Furthermore, he said that Montenegro does not interfere in the yard of Srebrenica, but in the “issue of genocide”.
“Srebrenica is not the yard of Serbia, but the yard of Bosnia. Wherever genocide occurs,
