Danin Jusko is a member of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian expedition which today successfully climbed Mt. Blanc, the highest mountain in the Alps, and became the youngest Alpinist to succeed.
“After exiting the train at Nid d-Aigle at 2,372 meters of altitude, from where they went up on the Gouter route, we had to ask the officials there to allow us to take Danin with us and they said he was maybe too young for the trip, not knowing how determined how he was to get to the top,” Tomislav Cvitanusic, a member of the delegation that climbed Mt. Blanc, wrote on Facebook.
His courage, steel will and dedication are fascinating after taking into consideration that Danin has only 12 years. Danin is also a member of the Academy of Martial Arts Bushido.
“At one moment at 4,550 meter of altitude, Danin was very cold and very exhausted that we considered returning to the Mountain Camp Gouter. Danin didn’t want to return and insisted that we continue. The heaters in his gloves were of great help. The mountain treated him with sunshine when we reached the top,” Cvitanusic said.
Last year, BiH got the first woman to climb Mattenhorn and this year, BiH got the youngest Alpinist on the top of Mt. Blanc.
The Sarajevo school for alpinism, led by Muhamed Gafic and Samir Mehic, had a great role in preparing him for this endeavor.
This excellent team from BiH included Izet Redzo, Tomislav Cvitanusic, Alpinists Ermin Skandric, Mima Vasic Danin, and Ismir Jusko.
