Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health of the Sarajevo Canton for monitoring and analysis of the situation caused by the new coronavirus, taking into account the recommendations of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health issued on August 20 this year, recommended the elderly, especially those with chronic diseases, to avoid unnecessary movements and use of public transport, as well as to use protective equipment on a regular basis.
They also recommend that they minimize visits to family doctor’s offices and hospitals, unless they desperately need health care.
If they need a prescription or medical advice, they recommend that they contact a doctor by phone first.
They also recommend to the entire population of Sarajevo Canton that, due to the deteriorating epidemiological situation in COVID-19, they avoid public gatherings and limit their movements.
They emphasize that, in the event of the appearance of some of the symptoms such as; fever, cough, loss of smell or taste, are recommended for people with symptoms, as well as members of their household to stay at home, and call the competent doctor for further instructions.
Residents of Sarajevo Canton are advised not to travel to countries where there is a high transmission of COVID-19, as well as to use their vacation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Also, those who live or work in countries with high COVID-19 transmission should not come to Sarajevo Canton, due to increased risk of COVID-19 introduction, as this could further result in further deterioration of the COVID-19 epidemiological situation in Sarajevo Canton.
These recommendations, as well as the Order of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health, came into force on Saturday, August 22 this year.
