Company Contessa from Tesanj produced over 2 million different parts of clothes over the last 19 years, exclusively for the demanding market of the EU. They sell their products to some of the famous names, such as Versace, Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, Diadora, Sportalm, Moschino, Uni&forma, Goretex etc.
Contessa has no problem with the placement of its products thanks to its capacities, quality, price and time of delivery, but the problem for them now is accepting new requests, without breaking the existing ones.
Today, they produce three groups of products on six production lines: sportswear with special characteristics, special clothing and products for furniture (chairs, armchairs, etc.). Of the total production, 99 % of the products will go to a foreign buyer directly or through the furniture that Contessa’s customers are exporting.
Buyer of sports equipment from Italy is one of the world’s largest innovators in this sector. One of the characteristics of sports equipment that they produce is that the clothing prevents the loss of energy (heat) of the athlete in any temperature conditions.
The production software ensures that the customer has information about the product immediately after scanning and packing the product, due to the online access.
In order to survive in this sector of production, a surplus equipment, trained workers and their hardwork, flexibility and great quality must be guaranteed, and deadlines must be respected as well.
This company was established and registered back in 1997 in the rented premises of former Factory of socks from Tesanj, and they started the production back in 1998. The very idea for this business was created in Germany when a German producer decided to move the production to this city. The production process started with 21 workers, and 62 more workers were hired very soon. Contessa started producing fine winter clothes. The production program was extended with the production of upper clothing parts from lighter materials. In the period from 2001 to 2004, the company started producing leather garments, after which it focused its development on two programs: sportswear and uniforms.
