The City of Banja Luka will start a pilot project of an electronic building permit starting of January 1st next year, as part of the development of the concept of a “smart city”, Mayor Igor Radojicic announced last week.

Radojicic specified that this novelty was introduced on the basis of the concept of “smart city”, one of the four goals of the 10-year Banja Luka Development Strategy.

Talking about what Banja Luka has done so far in the “smart city” process, Radojicic said that work is underway to digitize the work of the City Assembly, which implies a complete transition to electronic delivery of materials for sessions and electronic monitoring of Assembly sessions.

He explained that this is a very challenging undertaking with many open questions. The third major project is the establishment of a communication center in the city where citizens will be able to get all the unified information in one place.

The Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior is currently implementing a project to establish a network of cameras in the city.

“Also, we have the application “Civic Patrol” through which citizens can report all communal problems in the city that they notice,”said Radojicic, Biznis Info reports.
