Member of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health and Assistant Minister of Public Health Goran Cerkez stated that the epidemiological situation in the Federation of BiH is stabilizing, and stated that at this moment the incidence is below 50 in the entire Federation.
“We still have three cantons where the incidence is around 100. Therefore, we can say that the situation is satisfactory and in the coming period, if this trend continues, we will move towards the goal of reducing the number of patients and further easing measures,” said Cerkez.
Also, he added, it is important to say that at this time, immunization, ie vaccination, continues throughout the Federation.
“As of last Monday, we had more than 55,000 vaccinated people. We expect new results in the coming period. Also, I would like to emphasize that in the month of May, more than 170 thousand vaccines will arrive in the Federation of BiH, which will enable the continuation of this process that has begun, “said Cerkez.
In the past 24 hours, 1,025 samples were registered with the Public Health Institute of the Federation of BiH, of which 64 were positive for SARS-CoV-2. New cases have been registered in Una-Sana, Herzegovina-Neretva, Central Bosnia, Zenica-Doboj, Tuzla and Sarajevo Canton. So far, a total of 643,882 samples have been tested, and SARS-CoV-2 has been confirmed in 131,978 individuals in FBiH. In the same period, 22 deaths were reported to the Public Health Institute of the Federation of BiH.
As of today, the number of deaths in the Federation of BiH is 5,056, the FBiH Public Health Institute announced. In Republika Srpska (RS), 366 laboratory samples were tested in the last 24 hours, and coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) was confirmed in 32 people. In the last 24 hours, five deaths have been reported to the RS Institute of Public Health, in which the presence of coronavirus has been confirmed.
So far, 62,776 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in that entity, and a total of 3,498 people have died in whom the virus test has been confirmed.
In the last 24 hours, 208 samples of coronavirus were tested in the Brcko District of BiH, and five were positive. One person died.
