Bosnian Security Minister urges Removal of Migrants from the Streets

The Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina stressed the importance of removing illegal economic migrants from the streets as soon as possible, preventing their uncontrolled movement and, where possible, accommodating them in former military facilities or by forming new tent settlements, Fena news agency reports.

A whole set of measures are being taken by different levels of government, from municipalities, cantons, entities and at the state level.

Given that the issue of public order is in the exclusive competence of the cantons and the two entities, the BiH Ministry of Security suggests that police commissioners issue orders to police officers to act much more vigorously than before.

This means that all those who have documents issued by the migrant centers should be returned there and their movement must be restricted,” Bosnian Ministry of Security stated.
