Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH’s) Minister of Defense Marina Pendes will participate in the work of the Ministerial Meeting of the North Atlantic Council (NAC), to be held on Friday 25th October in Brussels.
The meeting, to be held at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, will be attended by the Ministers of Defense of NATO member countries and partner countries whose members are engaged in the Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan.
In addition to Minister Pendes, Ministry of Defense delegation includes Assistant Minister of Defense for International Cooperation Zoran Sajinovic, as well as representatives of the Military Section of the BiH Mission to NATO in Brussels led by the Head of the Military Section of the Mission of BiH to NATO and BiH Military Representative to the EU Brigadier Jasmin Cajic.
The North Atlantic Council (NAC) is the principal political decision-making body of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), consisting of Permanent Representatives from its member countries. It was established by Article 9 of the North Atlantic Treaty and it is the only body in NATO that derives its authority explicitly from the Treaty.
The 29 members of NATO have diplomatic missions to the organization through embassies in Belgium. The meetings of the NAC are chaired by the Secretary-General and, when decisions have to be made, action is agreed upon on the basis of unanimity and common accord.
