One of the most renowned BiH writers Dževad Karahasan had a promotion of several of his books in his home town of Tomislavgrad, reports Dnevni Avaz.
The promotion was held on Saturday, 29 June in the hall of Tomislavgrad Municipality.
During the promotion, excerpts from his books were read, to great pleasure of numerous audience.
Dževad Karahasan was born in 1953 in Tomislavgrad. Since 1993 Karahasan works as a dramatist for ARBOS – Company for Music and Theatre. His plays have been performed in Austria (Vienna, Krems, Hallein, Eisenstadt, Salzburg, Villach, Klagenfurt), Germany (Gera, Erfurt, Berlin, Leipzig), Bosnia-Herzegovina (Sarajevo), Ukraine (Odessa), Czech Republic (Prague, Hradec Králové, Brno), Kosovo (Pristina), Poland (Szczecin), Singapore (Singapore Arts Festival) and USA (Washington DC).
He has been honored for his work with the Prix européen de l’essai Charles Veillon (Charles Veillon European Essay Prize) and the Herder Prize in 1994. The “Bruno Kreisky Prize for Political Books” he got in 1995. At the Leipzig Book Fair in 2004 he was awarded with the Leipzig Book Prize for European Relations. 2010 he got the Vilenica Prize of the Slovene Writers Association.
