In the first seven months of 2017, exports from BiH totaled 6.18 billion BAM, which is 16.9% more than the same period last year, while imports were 10.14 billion BAM, an increase of 11.8%.
The import-export balance was 61%, while the foreign trade deficit was 3.95 billion BAM.
The primary driver of the increased exports this year is the increased exports to CEFTA countries, where exports grew by 32.9%. Exports to EU countries also grew, by 14.4%. It’s encouraging that imports from CEFTA and EU countries grew at a lower pace than exports, valued at 9.9% and 9.7%, respectively.
