The Austrian giant Interspar (Spar) last month decided to include in its assortment of products several products from the territory of the former Yugoslavia.
From Spar they said that they promoted these products through a leaflet in an effort to highlight them and bring them closer to customers.
In this way Spar promoted these products throughout Austria, which is an indicator of their quality and the trust that the Austrian giant has in them.
These are some of the most famous regional brands, such as Vegeta, Cedevita, Cocta, Bronchi and Kiki candies, Carnex pate, etc. Among them was one product from BiH, the Jami dough.
Commenting on this, Elvis Salihovic, an export manager for the EU market at Jami, says that they have been exporting to Austria since 2007.
In addition to Jami dough, which is sold in Interspar, the Austrian Merkur chain is selling its frozen pie.
“In addition to Austria, we also export to Switzerland, England, America, Dubai, France and Germany. For the EU market, we mainly export juices and frozen pies. The total share of exports in our company is 60%,” Salihovic said for Business Info.
Regarding the EU market, he says that the products are well received and the biggest challenge is to deal with competition. When it comes to dough products, the biggest competition comes from Greece.
“We are satisfied, but it can always be better,” Salihovic concludes.
