The training of trainers for judges on the reasoning of civil judgments was held on 16-18 December 2019 in Banja Luka. The training was organised in cooperation with the Judicial and Prosecutorial Training Centres of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska and it focused on how to give quality arguments for factual and legal conclusions. An important part of the training was the methodology of presentation, as well as the extent and content of the reasoning the domestic courts need to address in process of adjudication when considering the European Convention on Human Rights (the ECHR) and the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights. It has been designed to address the needs of judges who, in the process of domestic adjudication, are required to refer to the case law of the ECtHR.
The objective of the training was to improve the capacities and training skills of the future trainer judges. Six certified judges will deliver trainings on the reasoning of civil judgments to their peers in 2020.
The training was organised under the project: “Initiative for Legal Certainty and Efficient Judiciary in Bosnia and Herzegovina” funded by the Kingdom of Norway.
