Ratko Mladic insists on attending the verdict pronouncement at the Hague Tribunal tomorrow, Mladic’s lawyer Branko Lukic said to the agency Srna.
”He will appear. We will try to determine whether he is fit, although we are not professionals, but he insists on being there,” Lukic said.
Lukic, who visited Mladic today in the detention unit at The Hague, thinks that he will not be able to bear up the pronouncement of the verdict because his health condition is very bad.
“Will there be some breaks, I don’t know. When a trial happened, we worked for an hour and then paused for 20 minutes. Do they have it in mind, I don’t know, “ Lukic adds.
He says the defense will say tomorrow that they are against the pronouncement of Mladic’s verdict because of his health condition.
The Hague Tribunal will pronounce tomorrow’s verdict to the former General Staff Commander of Republika Srpska Army – Ratko Mladic, accused of war crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
Pronouncement of the verdict is scheduled for 10.00 am and, according to the announcement, it will last until 1.30 pm.
The Prosecution and Defense issued the closing arguments from 5th to 15th December last year.
Mladic was arrested in Serbia and turned over to The Hague in May 2011, and his trial began in May 2012.
