Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH) athlete at 800 meters Amel Tuka is the winner of the 26th “Melinda” rally which took place in the Italian city of Cles on Saturday evening. His team-mate from AK Zenica Abedin Mujezinovic took third place, and the second one was Polish Michal Rozmys. Mujezinovic made his personal record with time 1: 46.20.
On the exact day when Tuka won the bronze medal at the World Championships in Beijing three years ago (1: 46.30), he achieved the best result for BH athletics on Saturday evening with the time 1: 45.71.
Amel Tuka was born on January 9th, 1991 and is a Bosnian middle-distance runner who specializes in the 800 meters. Tuka holds two national records of BiH for the 400-meter and 800 meters disciplines.
On July 17, 2015, with his time of 1:42.51, Tuka positioned himself as the world leader in the men’s 800 metres in Monaco for the year 2015.
He subsequently earned his country’s first medal in a major athletics championship with his third-place finish in the men’s 800 meters at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics.
