Agency for Foreign Investment Promotion (FIPA) chose the best investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2013 at an event called “The choice of the most important investor in BiH for 2013”, which was held in Sarajevo.
This year the awards were given in four categories: the most significant “greenfield” investments, the most significant investment made through acquisitions / privatization, the most important investment thanks to which the most jobs are created and the most important investment through joint ventures.
The company “EFT mine and thermal power plants Doboj” has been chosen for the most important investor in the category of “greenfield”, or the establishment of new company / facility construction.
“G petrol doo Sarajevo” was selected as the most important investor in the category “The acquisition / privatization”.
In the category “Job creation” was selected “Napco Beds Factory Ltd. Peter”, while the company “Interwork Ltd. Bosanski Petrovac” won the award for the most important investor in the category of “joint venture”.
According to director of FIPA Jelica Grujic foreign investments in BiH are mostly resource-oriented and resources are the ones that most attract foreign investors.
She said that in 2013, major investments were from the UK, Serbia, Austria and Germany, and in the first six months of 2014, they came from Russia, Serbia and Austria.
