Not a single opinion or a stance that the Chairman of the BiH Presidency expressed during his visit to the Russian Federation has been harmonized in the BiH Presidency and therefore does not represent the official position of the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said in a statement the BiH Presidency member Sefik Dzaferovic.
The alleged agreement reached in Russia on the “gasification of the entity of RS” cannot have any legal consequences for Bosnia and Herzegovina or anyone in BiH, and can only constitute a violation of the Dayton Agreement or the BiH Constitution, the statement reads.
“No one in BiH and does not have and should not have anything against connecting BiH to international gas pipelines. However, the issue of gas and connection to international lines is in the exclusive competence of the state of BiH.
Therefore, it is necessary to pass a law at the state level and to establish an independent state operator such as ‘BiH Eletroprenos’ (State Electricity Transmission Company).
I call upon Dodik and all other political stakeholders in BiH to do this as soon as possible and thus enable stable gas supply for Bosnia and Herzegovina,” stated Dzaferovic, Federal News Agency reports.
