Prime Minister of Republika Srpska (RS) Zeljka Cvijanovic said that 41 million BAM was invested in the Olympic Center (OC) “Jahorina” and that this center is equally important for the RS and Sarajevo-Romanija region.
Prime Minister of the RS, as one of the problems, noted that there is no snow in winter season as it used to be, and that this situation is present throughout the world, not only on Jahorina.
According to her, it is necessary to decide what they want to manage.
“Do we want ski resorts, with all its potential and infrastructure, and to let hotels and catering and some other things to be a matter of private business, and not ours,” said Cvijanovic.
“At a specific moment, we entered negotiations with the Ski Resorts of Serbia, hoping that there would be an opportunity to make things better when it comes to Jahorina. We will continue to talk about it, we are open for discussions, but we have to strategically choose what to do and we need support the local community,” says Cvijanovic.
She noted that the Olympic center “Jahorina” is a resource that can be important for employment, but that it must be rationally managed, so that everyone can feel a particular benefit.
When it comes to business zone in Teslic, Cvijanovic noted that the Office of Attorney General of the RS is leading activities, given the fact that after a multi-year period the zone was not brought to use.
“There is a suspicion that this land will not be brought to use, and it would be a shame to miss such a good area, which has a perfect and a great location in the city and can make a great offer for business development and entrepreneurship, to remain `dead space’,” says Cvijanovic.
