Final preparations for the opening of the reconstructed Ferhadija Mosque in Banja Luka, announced for May 7, are in progress.
Given that about 20.000 visitors are expected to attend the opening ceremony, police of the Republika Srpska established the Security Headquarters „Ferhadija 2016“ which handles the security measures of this event, in order to ensure the safety of this gathering. Other police agencies in BiH are also involved in the work of the Headquarters.
On May 7, streets around Ferhadija will be closed and alcohol will not be served in catering facilities.
Apart from officials from BiH, the ceremony will also be attended by the delegation of the Republic of Turkey led by the Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, while the presence of a number of officials from the region has not been confirmed yet.
Organization Committee for the opening of Ferhadija recommended the believers to arrive in groups organized by pertinent mufti offices, meshihats and majlises.
With the aim of ensuring safe stay of all guests, a number of activities are being undertaken in cooperation with relevant security and police agencies.
Believers are recommended not to carry or show any kind of flags, banners, and other kinds of inscriptions on buses and other means of transportation.
This event undoubtedly has great religious, cultural and social significance for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Region.
