Bosnia and Herzegovina received an affirmative response and readiness for cooperation of the state of Pakistan in the process of identification and deportation of illegal migrants from that country who are currently in BiH, Klix.ba news portal reports.
The Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina has made progress in the control and possible readmission of illegal migrants residing in BiH to their countries of origin.
“Given that the largest number of migrants in BiH come from Pakistan, Minister of Security Selmo Cikotic met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to BiH Muhammad Khalid Rao during the first meetings after taking his office. Special focus was on cooperation between the two countries in managing movements. migrants and eliminating the negative consequences of their stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the Ministry of Security said in a statement.
On that occasion, the importance of signing the Readmission Agreement between BiH and Pakistan, which was launched in 2010, was pointed out.
Subsequently, the Ministry of Security of BiH was informed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH that the government in Islamabad had expressed understanding and readiness to sign this important agreement for BiH.
“This first positive response came as a result of the new approach of the BiH Ministry of Security, that the problems of the migrant crisis be solved through the use of international mechanisms and strengthening partnerships with countries that are a source of migration. migrants from Pakistan residing illegally in BiH,” the statement concluded.
