Intervention in the monetary system cannot help the economy of BiH, which is advocated by the President of RS Milorad Dodik, said the Head of EU Delegation to BiH and EU Special Representative in BiH, Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark.
“This is the issue on which I would not agree with Dodik or any other defenders of these interventions even by the smallest part,” said Wigemark.
Such ideas, he says, in the short term could produce certain effects, but in the long run, the last thing you want in the world is monetary instability, and instability of the currency because the currency instability is fatal.
He emphasized that he is satisfied with the reforms that were conducted by the Government of RS, as reforms are implemented as planned.
Certain improvement of the banking sector and regulation were launched and problems of insolvent banks, for example, Srpska Banka, were solved, which is a positive development.
“These are things that are important for the financial aspect, to promote the activity of the banking sector and the Government and National Assembly of RS did this and we must commend these efforts,” said Wigemark.
Now it is important, added Wigemark, to continue to improve the business environment for small and medium enterprises.
