The Olympic Center Jahorina intended to officially open the ski season on December 12 and 13, along with a varied cultural-entertaining program.
However, since the snow started falling intensively yesterday in the morning, plans of the OC Jahorina might get changed as well. The center hopes that the height of snow could be enough for the first skiers to take a downhill at trails on Jahorina already next week.
According to Ivana Lizdek, the spokesperson of OC Jahorina, the teams are already on the field trying to prepare the trails in order to realize all necessary conditions for skiing and launching of vertical transportation as soon as possible. Around noon yesterday, the height of snow was over 20 centimeters.
“System for artificial snowing has been in function since Friday. OC Jahorina strives to, in accordance with adequate temperatures in the coming days, product sufficient amount of snow in order to start the skiing as soon as possible. At this moment we cannot precisely say when will the skiing begin, but we are optimistic and we expect that there will be enough snow on the trails soon. The most important thing is to create safe conditions so that OC Jahorina could launch vertical transportation, which is ready for operation,” Lizdek said.
Prices of ski passes for season 2015/2016 on Jahorina range between 7 BAM for one ride and 720 BAM for seasonal pass with a picture. One-day ticket for weekend days will cost 39 BAM and on weekdays 34 BAM. Novelties in this and coming seasons will be the two-hour ski pass which is to cost 17 BAM and a seasonal pass with a picture that can be used only during workdays (Mon-Fri) and that will cost 270 BAM.
