The Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Radovan Viskovic, said on Wednesday that they offered an advance for the Russian vaccine against coronavirus in order to make it available to the citizens as soon as possible.
RS representatives had information about the vaccine from before because they were in contact with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in BiH, Avaz news portal reports.
“The vaccine is planned for the market of the Russian Federation, but at the moment they are in talks with certain companies in the field of production of medicines and medical equipment, in order to sign an agreement for some of those companies to produce for another market,” Viskovic added.
Viskovic stated that he is not in a position to provide all the information, but he said that some countries in the region are also negotiating to get a license for the production of the vaccine.
“What is important for us is that BiH negotiates to, in a way, stand in line for the vaccine as soon as it appears on the market. We even offered to give an advance in order to provide our citizens with this currently valuable medicine,” said Viskovic.
