There are more and more vehicles on the streets of Sarajevo every day and parking spaces are becoming less and less available. Nervous drivers circle around looking for a free parking lot.
The Cantonal Public Utility Enterprise RAD has 2.111 parking spaces in the first and second zone, 72 of which are intended for disabled persons.
“It is important to mention that almost all parking lots under jurisdiction of the KJKP RAD have been arranged in 2015, ramps and video surveillance were installed, and working hours have been extended to 24 hours on parking lots with ramps and from 7 am to 8 pm on parking lots along the roads. Apart from video surveillance and ramps, horizontal signalization was placed on all parking lots so that the users can see where to park their vehicle,” the enterprise stated.
The capacity of public garages at 12 locations is 2.300 covered parking spaces and 1.600 parking spaces in the open.
However, public garages are not intended for residents only, so everyone can submit a request for a parking space in a public garage if there are any available.
The price of rent of a parking space in public garages in Dobrinja and Saraj-Polje amounts to 60 BAM for ground floor (covered) and 40 BAM for outdoors.
Price of rent of parking space in public garages in Ciglane amounts to 90 BAM for covered and 80 BAM for outdoor parking space.
Occupancy of public garages in SarajPolje is 58 percent, in Dobrinja 13 percent and in Ciglane 86 percent for outdoor space, while the occupancy of covered space is 99 percent in Saraj-Polje, 86 percent in Dobrinja and 94 percent in Ciglane.
There are initiatives in the settlements where public garages are located to expand the capacities, but there are no concrete moves, stated this enterprise.
