The workshop ‘Youth and Public Policy’, organized by the Center for Promotion of Civil Society (CPCD) and the Foundation for Sustainable Community Development (ODRAZ) from Zagreb will be held today and tomorrow in Sarajevo, and participants will be representatives from NGO’s, local administrations and the business sector from all over B&H.
The emphasis is placed on 25 active youth, interested in capacity building and acquiring new knowledge necessary for advocacy, participation in decision-making and reflection of the development of the community through design, monitoring, and analysis of public policies and for cross-sectoral partnerships.
The aim is to increase the awareness of young people from B&H for active involvement in decision-making processes in areas relevant to their lives, employment and the development of the community.
The youth will transfer best practices from Croatia, be informed about the importance and ways of influencing public policy and inter-sectoral partnership in order to strengthen the social capital for changes in the direction of sustainable development.
In addition to the workshops, which will convey theoretical knowledge, participants will, through interactive and joint research under the guidance of ODRAZ, examine the situation in their countries and define guidelines for improving procedures and creating specific public policies, with an emphasis on the local community budget for the 2015 fiscal year.
